Hotel Reservation Tips from MyDVI.com

Before you leave for your vacation, it is generally important to arrange for your accommodations in advance. As is the case with most major cities throughout the world, lodging books up quickly. Here are a few items to think about before you pack:

Always reserve lodging in advance. This allows you to get the best rate possible, and to be certain you won't end up at your destination with no place to stay.

When placing your reservation, get as much information about the facility as possible. Make sure all the amenities you desire are included, and find out if any events are taking place which may conflict with your needs. For example, are there any large conventions at or around the hotel that may affect your stay?

Request in advance the type of room you want: one with a view, a balcony, and lots of sunlight? Or, do you require a non-smoking room, a room with a whirlpool, Internet access, etc? Do you require business facilities? Always ask for a confirmation of the room you have selected and the quoted rate.

Make yourself aware of the hotel's cancellation policy. Cancellations can happen and you want those contingencies addressed. Ask about any cancellation fees that can be charged to your credit card. Be aware that if you are traveling during a holiday period, most hotels have much stricter cancellation policies and no-show policies.
